Microsoft Virtual Earth 3D around the world

I got a comment last night from someone talking about VE 3D being the latest U.S. centric website. For sure the main focus is on the United States, but there are some 3D models around the world. Not many but a start.

  1. you’ve got good imagination based on what you have projected, more power…

Isn’t the London Eye the wrong way ’round in that picture? I sure hope it isn’t still positioned like that in Virtual Earth, that would be embarassing… ;-)

  3. Pepijn says:

I checked, and yes it is still positioned like that. Oops… :-) Can we tell someone they put it in wrong?

I also noticed that almost two years after your blog post these two buildings are still the only two 3D buildings in London, so I’d say the comment about Virtual Earth being US-centric was pretty accurate… ;-)

    That’s odd… I’ll inquire.

    Pepijn,

London will be uploaded this year I believe and it’ll be goooood…

    It’s getting ‘special’ treatment!
