The solution for spatial information resource to share should use mixed ArcIMS and ArcGIS Server,because REST API is lightly,only some complex app logic should use SOAP API,and it is main web services api with ArcGIS Server.
I hope your advice.

Finally,i want to know ESRI compare these form API,and is changed since with ArcGIS Product?

They definitely have two different demos. I saw the REST API and I have to agree with J Wallis that it wasn’t very impressive. There is definitely one guy (Todd) running a demo with arcgis server running on 9.2 using VE as the basemap. It looked way better than the REST API demo.

It just wasnt very impressive to me.

Also, the techdemos.esri.com is back up. They got some new iron from AMD and I think its runnning Citrix PS4.5

The MS guys at the booth told me it was AGS 9.3 and REST API. Maybe there are two demos. I’m pretty sure at least one demo there is running the REST API.

The demo uses arcgis server 9.2. He said VE is wrapped in a WMS server.

Basically a lot of Microsoft partners, but very few people from MS. The partners did have some cool stuff, and their implementations pitches didn’t scare me away like in the past. (in other words, it seems like they get it, instead of taking a traditional developer approach to a GIS problem).
