When you speak for Adobe, and apparently you do, then you should be prepared to accept critical notes on behalf of Adobe…since you are, so to speak, a house organ.

Mr. Fee’s comment was not an ‘ad hominem’ comment, but a response to what strongly resembles a prepared statement. If the quote is not a prepared statement but instead your language alone, you should be commended for your ability to speak with a mouthful of lint.

[note - this last comment is a good-natured ad hominem comment. ;^) It's not personal, just an observation on your apparent ability to generate smoke while exhbiting no visible means of combustion]

(iow, if you’ve got a real idea I’d like to hear it, but if you just wish to characterize other ideas, and particularly their speakers, then that’s not as useful.)
